GOGOSTAR was one of the very first bands I came across when I discovered the South Korean indie music scene and they have been a consistent presence in my life ever since. Their boundless energy and wonderfully weird aesthetic made an instant fan out of me and they are at the very top of my wish list of bands I’d like to see perform live. Those of you who are attending Zandari Festa this year will get your chance later tonight! We were able to ask them a few questions prior to their first ever performance at the festival. Here’s what they had to say.
Answers from vocalist Lee Taesun
We’d love to get an introduction to your band in your own words. Will you tell us who makes up your band, and how you describe your style of music?
We are playing disco music and punk rock with both a joyful and gloomy mood.
What does being invited to play at Zandari Festa 2017 mean to you?
It’s our first time to play at Zandari Festa and we’re excited to experience the festival. We are going to enjoy ourselves and perform our music.
What is the best part of Zandari Festa for you?
That the festival is able to attract so many musicians and music industry professionals from around the world and have them all gather together in Seoul, Korea. It’s amazing.
Who do you want to see play at Zandari Festa this year?
GoGo Star!
What can people at Zandari Festa expect from your performance?
We were planning to do some kind of special performance, but then we decided that it would be best to do our standard GoGo Star performance. We are going to have fun and enjoy the show as much as possible.
