In the third edition of Non Stop Ska Festival, Kingston Rudieska (킹스턴 루디스카) was revealed to be in the lineup. Kingston Rudieska will be the first South Korean band to play in the music festival which is held in Mexico City from October 19-20, 2019. In 2018, Rebs and I were headed to the festival, but the February 16th Oaxaca earthquake happened and we couldn’t board our plane from Los Angeles to Mexico City and due to the tragic event the festival was postponed. This year the festival comes back stronger than ever with numerous bands from around the world.
Kingston Rudieska is composed of nine members Lee Suk-Yul (lead vocals, percussion), Choi Chul-Wook (leader, trombone), Oh Jeong-Seok (trumpet 1, flugelhorn), Kim Jung Guen (trumpet 2), Sung Nock Won(tenor sax), Seo Jae-Ha (guitar), Son Hyong-sik (Bass), Kim Dae Min (Drums), and Yim Chea Sun (Keyboards). They have been paying respect to the roots of ska since their first show in 2004. Since most of their members are trained jazz musicians you can hear improvisational jazz vibes in their music. They blend bluebeat ska, dub, reggae, jazz, and nyahbinghi to make their unique sound.

En la tercera edición del Non Stop Ska Festival, se reveló que Kingston Rudieska (루디스카) está en la alineación. Kingston Rudieska será la primera banda surcoreana en tocar en el festival de música que se celebra en la Ciudad de México del 19 al 20 de octubre de 2019. En 2018, Rebs y yo nos dirigimos al festival, pero el terremoto del 16 de febrero en Oaxaca ocurrió y no pudimos abordar nuestro avión desde Los Ángeles a la Ciudad de México y debido al trágico evento, el festival se pospuso. Este año, el festival vuelve más fuerte que nunca con numerosas bandas de alrededor del mundo.
Kingston Rudieska está compuesto por nueve miembros Lee Suk-Yul (voz principal, percusión), Choi Chul-Wook (líder, trombón), Oh Jeong-Seok (trompeta 1, flugelhorn), Kim Jung Guen (trompeta 2), Sung Nock Won (saxo tenor), Seo Jae-Ha (guitarra), Son Hyong-sik (Bajo), Kim Dae Min (Batería) y Yim Chea Sun (Teclados). Han estado respetando las raíces del ska desde su primer show en 2004. Dado que la mayoría de sus miembros son músicos de jazz entrenados, puedes escuchar vibraciones de jazz improvisadas en su música. Mezclan bluebeat ska, dub, reggae, jazz y nyahbinghi para hacer su sonido único.
